Race 1As the lights went out for the opening race of the year, pole-sitter Petr Vorlicek reacted quickest to take the holeshot ahead of Milan Sitniansky, Diego Monticelli, Luca Ciaglia and Kevin Fagre. Giovanni Bussei was 7th behind Lorenzo Promutico. For the first two laps the positions remained the same, but the first rider to start advancing was Bussei; first making the most of a mistake from Promutico who fell back to 13th. The following lap and Bussei was 5th after passing Fagre and two laps later the Italian found himself in 4th when Ciaglia fell to 7th.Despite getting his head down Bussei was not able to close in on the leaders and when the first three riders eventually crossed the finish line, they did so in the same positions they started, with Vorlicek taking the first win of the season from Sitniansky and Monticelli. European Trial in Pietramurata (Italy) - Day2

Miquel Gelabert @ Candellone In the first round of the FIM Europe Trial Championship held in Pietramutata (Italy), the 18 year old Spanish rider Miquel Gelabert (Sherco) - second in the last year's World Junior class - beated Francesc Moret (Vertigo) who in 2015 had contested the European title to Italian Gianluca Tournour. Moret's country mate, Gelabert, today showed a good maturity, both as riding skill and ability to maintain concentration. He started an excellent first lap, in which he lost just 2 points. Moret was not far, having scored 7, but all the others were quite behind. Gabriele Giarba (Montesa) scored 13 and was ahead of Dan Peace (Beta) with 14. The second lap did not offer any surprises. Gelabert made some more mistakes but his score was still the best: 11 penalities. Moret had just one point more. Giarba kept the third place, scoring 20.In the Junior class

Many important topics have been discussed, like the report of the President, the report of the Secretary General, the report of the Chairman of the Sporting Council, the report of the Chairman of the Non-Sporting Council, as well as various reports from the other Vice-Presidents.During the FIM Europe Management Council meeting, special attention was given to the report of the Treasurer, as well as the report of the Auditors. The 2015 Balance-Sheet was approved and so was the 2016 Budget. The preparation of the FIM Europe Congress in Kavala, Greece (June 30th – July 2nd 2016)

European Trial in Pietramurata (Italy)

Theresa Baeuml @ Candellone German Theresa Baeuml (Beta) and Italian Lorenzo Gandola (Scorpa) topped the first podiums respectively in Women and Youths classes in Pietramurata, Italy, first round of the 2016 FIM Europe Trial Championship. Seventy young riders are taking part to this first event of a real “evergreen” series: a championship that does not know the “crisis” word. On the 12 sections in the private area, easily reachable by spectators, the girls started first on a cloudy spring day. The last year’s champion, Baeuml, showed soon her intention to defend the title. She lost just 7 points in the whole first loop, while all her rivals’ scores were quite distant. European Trial Championship kicking off in Pietramurata (Italy)

In the next weekend for the third consecutive year, in Pietramurata, Trentino region, North-East of Italy, the Riva del Garda club will have the honor to host the start of every series in these two days of competitions. As tradition on Saturday the scene is reserved to Youths and Women. Two loops with 12 sections each, all inside a close area, easily reachable by spectators. In order to give chances to compete to everybody, independently of their own riding skills, there are also two sub-classes, named “International”, for both Youth and Women, with sections at a lower level.Up to this moment already 175 riders have sent their entry-forms. European Snowcross Championship in Alta (Norway)

As announced in FIM Europe press release of March 23rd, following the cancellation because of the unsuitable weather conditions of the 2 events that were scheduled in Estonia and Russia for the 2016 European Snowcross Championship, this championship will now be combined with the World Championship event in Alta, Norway on Friday and Saturday 8/9 April. The press conference for the MXGP Academy (@ Youthstream) After the qualifications on the first day of the MX GP in Valkenswaard (The Netherlands), Youthstream and FIM Europe organised a press conference for the MXGP Academy. The trainers of the Academy are busy all over the year with riders training in several European Countries. Besides this it is important to pay attention to the skills of the trainers.In January many KNMV trainers took part to a special course for trainers in Sport center Papendal, in The Netherlands.These trainers were invited in order to receive the certificates in Valkenswaard.Giuseppe Luongo from Youthstream is enthusiastic about the progress of the Academy trainers: "Young, good educated riders are the future and the base for the pyramid which works very good in motocross. Antoine Basset, winner of the overall in the second day - Photo @Robert Pairan In the second day of the Enduro European Championship in Brioude (France) the overall was won by French rider Antoine Basset on his KTM in front of the Brit Brad Freeman. Freeman was leading in the overall up to the last special test: “I hit a tree with my shoulder and crashed,” stated the junior rider, who however won the Junior-E1-class and keeps the overall lead in the championship. Contrarily to Day1, there were less Junior riders at the top of the overall: Freeman was the only one up to the sixth place, where we can find his classmate Nicolas Pellegrinelli.Third place in the overall for Czech Jaromir Romancik ahead of the reigning champion Tom Sagar and of Romain Dumontier, and this is also the podium of E2-class.Guest starter Jérémy Carpentier from France won the E1-class.

European Motocross 65 and 85cc South Eastern Zone in Greece

  Aida Cojanu finished 65cc Race1 at the third place Greek Motocross Club OFMG hosted this weekend the first round of the European Motocross 65cc and 85cc South Eastern European Zone. Three thousand people gathered today in Giannitsa MX Park to enjoy the thrilling races the MX kid riders in EMX65 and EMX85 were about to perform. 26 riders from 6 different Countries were present despite the rain, which was coming and going since Saturday morning.             Croatian Nikola Hranic (Husqvarna) was the winner of the day in EMX85, having won both races in front of Greek rider Antonis Sagmalis (KTM) who managed to finish second also in the second race after a great battle with Bulgarian rider Nikolay Malinov (Kawasaki) who had to settle for third as well in both races.         Greek rider Andreas Andreou (Yamaha) did the battle for the second place but finished
