European Moto2 and Superbike in Valencia (Spain)

Eric Granado, poleman of European Moto2 After two intense days of unofficial practices, enabling teams and riders to tune their machines, qualifying practices – held in bright sunshine and with  ideal track conditions - has thrown some light on the possible early favourites of the season. Granado will start from the pole position in the Moto2™ European Championship as well as Barragán in the Superbike European Championship. The consistency of Promoracing rider Eric Granado (BRA-Kalex) on the Kalex last season seems to have come to fruition today as he chalked up the quickest time in both Moto2™ European Championship qualifying practice sessions today – albeit slightly faster in the second session. The same thing happened with the second and third placed riders Steven Odendaal (RSA-Kalex) and Tetsuta Nagashima (JPN-Kalex), who put up the second and third fastest laps respectively in both sessions. EMX 65, 85cc and Open at Senkvice (Slovakia)

The second round of EMX 65 and 85cc and the third round of EMX Open Championships are taking place this weekend at Senkvice, in Slovakia. On a sunny Saturday the riders carrried out practice and qualifying races on a well prepared track.  In the qualifying race of the EMX 65 cc class Ivano Van Erp from The Netherlands was  the fastest. Second place for Belgian Liam Everts, the son of ten times world champion Stefan. Third position for Dutch Seem De Lange.In the qualifying race of EMX 85 cc class the fastest rider was Emil Jøndrup from Sweden who gained the pole position for the races of tomorrow. Second place for Matias Vesterinnen followed by Anton Nagy Sweden.In the EMX Open Class the first rider at the finish line was Martin Michek from Czech Republic; second place for his compatriot Marek Sukup in front of home rider Tomas Simko.

First meeting between the FIM and the CONU Secretaries General

The participants to the first meeting between the FIM and the CONU Secretaries General   The FIM and the General Secretaries of the FIM Continental Unions met on Tuesday 12 April at Fiumicino, Italy, for a first working session at the initiative of the FIM.   This new meeting format aims to foster exchanges and relations between the FIM and the CONUs generally and also to develop common projects designed to improve the services provided to the national federations and the riders. This meeting took place in the presence of Ignacio Verneda (FIM CEO), Steve Aeschlimann (FIM COO), Jacqui Monteiro (FIM Africa), Shah Yahya (FIM Asia), Alessandro Sambuco and Silvia Monatti (FIM Europe), Ramon Carreira (FIM Latin America) and John Pineo (FIM North America). European Supermoto Championship Junior, S3 and Open at Pleven (Bulgaria)

European Junior Supermoto The first round of the European Supermoto Championship SM Junior, S3 and Open started this weekend in the circuit of “Dolna Mitropolia”, in Pleven, Bulgaria, in front of around 2.000 spectators in the two days. As always, the facility in Pleven offered perfect circuit and racing conditions for the riders. The weekend had two completely different weather conditions: Saturday it was a hot and sunny Spring day, whereas Sunday was accompanied by heavy rains and low temperatures, reaching up to 11 degrees C. These conditions offered to the riders many challenges during the races on Sunday, and proved to be especially difficult for the SM Junior riders. The 2015 European champion Deniz Oncu (KTM 85cc, Turkey) suffered a crash on Saturday FP2, he had to start from the last position and could not defend his leadership in this first event. European EMX Open at Zabok (Croatia)

The podium The second round of European Open Motocross Championship was held in Zabok (Croatia). In Saturday’s qualification race we saw a big battle for first places between Czech riders Petr Bartos and Jonas Nedved followed by Peter Irt from Slovenia and home rider Marko Leljak. At the end Petr Bartos won the Qualifying race in front of Jonas Nedved and Peter Irt.In Race1 Peter Irt did the holeshot followed by Petr Bartos, Petr Michalec and Martin Michek. Michek managed to pass Michalec for third position and Bartos for the second. In the last five minutes Michek attacked also Irt, who at the end won, finishing 0,2s before of Michek and Bartos.In Race2 Michek did the holeshot and lead till the end. European EMX 65, 85 and ITP Quad at Slagelse (Denmark) - Day 2

As well as Saturday, also Sunday was sunny in Slagelse, which hosted the European EMX 65, 85 and ITP Quad Championships. In EMX 85 class the best at the start of Race1 was Danish Rasmus Pedersen, who performed a beautiful duel with Anton Nagy (SWE). The third position was decided at the last corner: Noel Nilsson (SWE) made a mistake and Matias Vesterinen (FIN) finished on the podium. Race2 was dominated by the young Swedish Anton Nagy in front of Emil Jönrup (SWE). Third was the winner of Race1 Rasmus Pedersen (DEN).Overall winner of the class EMX 85 was Anton Nagy, in front of Rasmus Pedersen and Emil Jönrup.Liam Everts (BEL) won Race1 of EMX 65 class, where he did not have any rivals. Martin Moland, the new European Snowcross Champion. The city of Alta, in Norway, is above the Arctic Circle and is famous for ice fishing (especially salmon-fishing) and a ski area is close to the city, which has a population of 20,000 people. Alta hosted the European Snowcross Championship for the third time (the latest was in 2009). In a light rain, with 2-4 C°, a very well prepared, technical track hosted the European Championship together with the last race of World Championship; the ESNX riders were 16, and they raced in front of approximately 2.000 spectators.The Qualifying Practice was dominated by Robert Lunden (Ski-Doo) from Norway, in front of Martin Moland (Artic Cat) from Norway, too, and Hansson Emil (Polaris) from Sweden.Race1, on Friday afternoon, saw many fights, but not in the first positions; in fact the Norvegian Martin Moland did the holeshot and lead all the race long with a big

It was a sunny racing Saturday in Slagelse (Denmark) for 105 riders in three classes: EMX 65, EMX 85 and EMX ITP Quad, in the first event of the season. In the EMX 85 the riders faced two qualification races: Rasmus Pedersen from Denmark won race A in front of Emil Jönrup (SWE) and Noel Nilsson (SWE). Qualification race B was won by Anton Nagy from Sweden in front of Lewis Hall (GBR) and Kay Karssemakers (NED).In the EMX 65 class Liam Everts from Belgium dominated finishing in front of Sem de Lange (NED) and Ivano van Erp (NED). In EMX ITP Quad Mike van Grinsven from Holland was the winner in front of Edgars Mengelis (LAT) and Ingo Ten Vregelaar (NED).

European Motocross EMX65 and 85 SE in Gevgelija (FYROM) Cancelled

Aida Cojanu finished 65cc Race1 at the third place in the first round of South Eastern Zone As communicated by MFMA, the European Motocross Championship EMX65 and EMX85 event in Gevgelija, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, scheduled for 16/17.04.2016 is cancelled due to the risky situation at the GRE/MKD border, which is situated just a kilometer away from the circuit. The situation is considered not 100% safe for the riders as there is a too big migrants camp and the police does not recommend having the event there at this moment.

European EMX 65, 85 and Open at Brezice (Slovenia)

The circuit of Brezice, in Slovenia, hosted the first round of European Motocross Championship 65cc, 85cc and Open. The weather was sunny and warm for the whole weekend and around 4.500 spectators watched the races. EMX 65The EMX 65 was dominated by three riders Russi, Gutierrez and Barbier. Winner of both manches was Russi from Italy, in front of Gutierrez and Barbier. EMX 85The race started with a holeshot of home rider nr 273 Mausser. He took the lead followed by two Italian riders who struggled with Hofer, author of a bad start. After half distance Hofer was the leader in front of Mausser and Italian Capuzzo . At the end it was Hofer to win in front of Mauzzer and Capuzzo. In the second heat Hofer and Mausser didn’t give a chance to other riders.
