EMX 65 and 85 North East Zone at Stelpe (Latvia)

The final event of the EMX 65 and 85 North East Zone was organized at Stelpe, in Latvia, on a track surrounded by a forest. On Saturday qualifying races were held for both classes. In 65 class first position for Latvian Edvards Bidzans, in front of his compatriot Karlis Alberts Reisulis and of Russian  Kirill Vorobyev.In 85 class the first position was for Estonian rider Meico Vettik, before his compatriot Jorgen Matthias Talviku and Latvian rider Kristian Freimanis. EMX 65In Race1 the poleman Edvards Bidzans (LAT) was the winner. Behind him, podium for Kirill Vorobyov (RUS) and Aleksis Araids (LAT).Edvards Bidzans did the holeshot in Race2 and gained at once a great advantage, which he maintained until the end of the race. European Individual Grass Track Championship Semi-Final 2 at Mulmshorn (Germany)

The Semifinal 2 of European Grass Track Championship held in Mulmshorn (Germany) was won by Dirk Fabriek in in front of a good sized crowd in a spring-like temperature. He reached the B final with 13 points and then was defeated by Dutch De Jonk. But in the final he zipped from the yellow trap in front of all his rivals. It was an entertaining meeting, with plenty of good racing and drama and it was stopped for almost 15 minutes for a short downpour after heat 12. The Runner-up was young British James Shanes after a brilliant display. After two wins in his first two outings he dropped a couple of points in his remaining heats. European Individual Grass Track Championship Semi-Final 1 at Tayac (France)

A crowd of over 1000 spectators was present to witness a night of classic racing. There were high expectations of qualification for the final on French heroes Stephane and Mathieu Tresarrieu’s shoulders. However there were several riders who had other ideas, particularly Chris Harris from UK and Henry van der Steen from the Netherlands.After two rides each Chris Harris led the standings with two quality tapes-to-flag wins whilst the Tresarrieu brothers had 8 points Stephane and 9 points Mathieu. Dutchman Steen had also 8 points.Then the drama for Chris Harris began. During his second ride in heat 5 his engine had a severe oil leak. His pit crew then worked frantically, removing the sick engine and fitting a spare one.All appeared to be going as planned for him to be ready in time for his third ride but when they started the spare engine suddenly blew-up, leaving him without any

Steven Odendaal (RSA-Kalex, in photo1) dominated Moto2™ while Maximilian Scheib (CHI-BMW, in photo2) and Carmelo Morales (SPA-Yamaha) each took a win in Superbike. Moto2™In Moto2™, Steven Odendaal (RSA-Kalex) made good on his pole position to achieve his fourth win of the season, followed by Tetsuta Nagashima (JPN-Kalex) and Alan Techer (FRA-NTS T Pro). Starting on the front row of the grid for the first time, Iker Lecuona (SPA-Kalex) eventually finished fifth behind Eric Granado (BRA-Kalex) with Augusto Fernández (SPA-Tech3), who set off third, falling early on while in second place behind the championship leader.In the podium ceremony, the South African AGR Team rider was awarded the Repsol free fuel cheque.With more than half the season completed, Steven Odendaal has consolidated his lead of the Moto2™ European Championship, with 136 points compared to Tetsuta Nagashima’s 88 points and Eric Granado’s 85. EMX 65 & EMX 85 NE and Open at St. Petersburg (Russia)

The EMX 65, 85 North East zone and EMX Open European Championship was held this weekend in Saint-Petersburg, Russia, in extremely hot weather conditions.On Saturday the 74 riders in 3 classes participated to the qualifications. In EMX 85 Estonian Meico Vettik snatched the pole position. He was followed by Russian Svyatoslav Pronenko and by Latvian Kristians Freimanis. In EMX 65 the championship leader Eduards Bidzans did the pole position. He was followed by Russian Kirill Vorobyev and by Latvian Aleksis Araids.In Open class the pole position was taken by Russian Semen Rogozin, who was followed by his compatriots Ivan Baranov and Alexandr Efimov.The race day was held on Sunday, the races were held on a well prepared track.EMX 85The first heat was won by the yesterday’s poleman, Estonian Meico Vettik. He was followed by the Latvian Kristians Freimanis and Russian Svyatoslav Pronenko.In the second heat Kristains Freimanis took the win.
