EMX Open European Championship: Butron celebrates the title with overall win in Turkiye The final round of the EMX Open European Championship in Afyonkarahisar, Turkey, saw JD Gunnex KTM Racing’s Jose Butron celebrating the title from the top step of the podium as the Spaniard secured his second overall victory of the season! The Turkiye podium was the same as the championship top three, with Tomas Kohut of Osicka MX Team and Michael Sandner of Raths Motorsports joining the winner on the podium as they collected their second and third place trophies and silver and bronze FIM-Europe medals. In the first EMX Open race, it was Butron who led the way ahead of Sandner and Michael Ivanov. Though Sandner took away the lead from Butron on the opening lap. EMX 250 European Championship: Elzinga crowned champion! The round of Charente Maritime concluded the 2022 campaign of the EMX 250 European Championship that saw Hutten Metaal Yamaha Racing’s Rick Elzinga wrap up the title in the opening heat, while Jumbo BT Husqvarna Racing Team’s Lucas Coenen ended his season in the best way possible with a 1-1 scorecard and claimed his third overall win of the year as well as the silver medal in the standings! A strong result for L. Coenen also meant that he secured the silver medal in the championship standings while Fantic Factory Team Maddii’s Cornelius Toendel dropped to third after an unlucky first race, in which he scored 0 points. EMX 125 and EMX 250 European Championship: Coenen and Reisulis master the sand at the round of Flanders Round seven of the EMX250 and EMX125 Presented by FMF Racing Championships have concluded at the round of Flanders that saw Jumbo Husqvarna BT Racing Team’s Luca Coenen and Janis Martins Reisulis victorious in the deep and sandy conditions of Lommel. EMX250 In the first EMX250 race, it was Sacha Coenen of Jumbo Husqvarna BT Racing who took the holeshot from Hutten Metaal Yamaha Racing’s Rick Elzinga and Andrea Bonacorsi. Elzinga made a quick move into the lead, as Bonacorsi followed through and moved into second as S. Coenen got pushed down to third. Guillem Farres of Raths Motorsports fought his way up the order as he eventually passed Dave Kooiker of Hutten Metaal Yamaha Racing for third. EMX in Finland: new venue announced The FIM Europe together with FIM, Infront Moto Racing and Lahti Events Ltd., the organizer of the upcoming MXGP of Finland, announce that an alternative venue has been selected to host the EMX in Finland on the 13th & 14th of August. The event, that was originally set to take place in Iitti-KymiRing, will instead head back to an old favourite venue, Vauhtipuisto in Hyvinkää, hosting the EMX125, EMX250 and EMX Open. Hyvinkää is a city located around 50 kilometres from the capital Helsinki and has been part of the FIM Motocross World Championship since making its first appearance back in 1965. Some winners at the original venue include the likes of Sylvain Geboers, Harry Everts, Kees Van Der Ven, Dave Strijbos, Antonio Cairoli and Jeffrey Herlings, just to name a few.  EMX Women's European Championship North East zone and EMX Women's The city of Gdansk, Poland, hosted the third round of the EMX 65 / EMX 85 European Championship - North East zone and the seventh of the EMX Women's European Championship. The big heat welcomed all the riders for exciting and extreme battles. In the EMX65 Lucas Leok won ahead of Aston Allas and Jekabs Hudolejs, while the EMX85 class saw the great challenge between home rider Dawid Zaremba, Elmantas Cepulis and Travis Leok.
