EMX 65 and 85 NW Zone at Sverepec (Slovakia) – Day2

The track was well prepared for the Sunday’s races which were held in a very warm, cloudy day. In EMX 85cc in race1 Liam Everts from Belgium won ahead of Camden Mc Lellan from Germany, and Kay De Wolf from The Netherlands. In Race2 German Constantin Piller won ahead Håkon Østerhagen from Norway and Radek Vetrovsky from Czech Republic. In the overall the winner was Piller ahead of Vetrovsky and Østerhagen. In the 65cc class Marek Vitezslav from Czech Republic was the fastest rider folloved by German Aaron Kowatsch and Dutch Bradley Mesters. EMX 65 and 85 NE Zone at Stelpe (Latvia) – Day2

In the races on Sunday, the riders still found very good track conditions, with excellent grip and no dust. In the 85cc class, the young Latvian Edvards Bidzans took home the maximum score on his Yamaha with 2 wins. The podium finished with Karlis Alberts Reisulis from Latvia with two 2nd places and Mikk Martin Lohmus from Estionia with two 4th places in 3rd place. In class 65 Semen Rybakow from Russia dominated with two wins, ahead of Janis Martins Reisulis from Latvia who finished second in both races. EMX 65 and 85 SE Zone and Open at Mladina (Croatia)

In sunny, hot weather in the Croatian city of Jastrebarsko, on the track of Mladina, the EMX 65/85 SE Zone and EMX OPEN went on stage. EMX 85 In the qualifying race the Hungarian riders Laszlo Mark and Tecsi Pergel Bence finished ahead of local rider Patrik Ujcic. In Race 1 Hungarian riders Laszlo Mark Tecsi and Bence Pergel finished in the first two positions ahead of Hungarian Viktor Varro. In Race2 Laszlo Mark Tecsi did the holeshot again and lead the race followed by Bence Pergel, who took the lead when Tecsi crashed. Second position for Viktor Varo ahead of home rider Luka Kunic. The overall winner is Bence Pergel, ahead of Viktor Varro and Luka Kunic. EMX 65 In the qualifying race Romanian rider Zoltan Ordog lead from start to finish. The fourth round of the European EMX 65cc and EMX 85cc North West is being held this weekend at Sverepec, in Slovakia. The organizer made a great job to have the track in order for this event, and all the riders enjoyed a perfect track for free practice and qualifying practice today. Qualifying race in EMX 85cc saw Liam Everts from Belgium take the holeshot and gain the pole position. Second place for Constantin Piller from Germany ahead of Radek Vetrovsky from Czech Republic. In the EMX 65cc class Vitezslav Marek from Czech Republic was the first rider at the finish line and got pole position for Sunday’s race ahead of Aaron Kowatsch and Bradley Mesters. EMX 65cc, EMX 85cc NW Zone and EMX Women at Dreetz (Germany) – Day 2

The third round of the EMX 65/65 European Championship of North West Zone and the second round of EMX Women were held in Germany on the sandy track of Dreetz. The weather on Sunday was cloudy with a temperature of 24 degrees. The track was very well prepared and all riders were looking forward to exciting races. EMX85 - In Race1, Dutch Kay Karssemakers was able to achieve the first place. In second place Dutch Kay de Wolf, ahead of Liam Everts from Belgium. In Race2 first place for Dutch Kay Karssemakers ahead of Kay De Wolf from The Netherlands and of Liam Everts from Belgium. The overall saw Kay Karssemakers in front of Liam Everts and Dave Kooiker (photo1). EMX65 – Race1 was won by a rider from Belgium, Bradley Mesters. EMX 250 and EMX 300 at Matterley Basin (Great Britain)

Under blue skies and sunshine FIM Europe’s EMX250 and EMX300 presented by FMF Racing classes have completed their British round at Matterley Basin. Aside from the epic weather and perfect track conditions the racing was phenomenal as well. The British fans where especially treated when Car Glass Honda’s Steven Clarke took the EMX250 overall and Verde Substance KTM’s Brad Anderson won EMX300 presented by FMF Racing and took the championship points lead at the same time! EMX 250 - The ultra competitive EMX250 class continued this weekend in Matterley Basin for the 5th round of the season. Revo Husqvarna UK had high hopes for a home race win with both Martin Barr, the series points leader, and Mel Pocock, second in the standings, both racing in front of the home crowd. EMX65 and EMX 85 Championship SW Zone at Fernao Joanes (Portugal) – Day1

The fourth and last round of EMX SW Zone EMX65/85 European Championship started in cloudy, windy weather at Fernao Joanes with 52 riders: 28 in class EMX 65 and 24 in EMX 85. The weather condition in the morning and all day was windy and cloudy. For qualification races it was sunny. The track was really well prepared. Qualification race winner of class EMX 65 was Spanish rider Francisco Garcia, 10,69 sec ahead of Italian Patrick Busatto and 13,55 sec ahead of French rider Jules Pietre. The first lap in class EMX 85 was lead by Pablo Gutierrez Solis, but in few laps Spanish Raul Sanchez Garcia took the first position and won the qualification race. Second position for Italian Matteo Luigi Russi, 3,69 sec ahead of French Saad Soulimani, 14,83sec behind the leader.

The 2018 MXGP of Latvia is well underway from Kegums and joining in the action of the World Championship was the two FIM Europe classes of EMX250 and EMX125 presented by FMF Racing. While the MXGP and MX2 classes are running their points paying races this afternoon the EMX riders started their championship racing Saturday and finished it up early today. Topping the overall standings was Honda Redmoto Assomotors Mathys Boisrame and KTM Junior Racings Rene Hofer! EMX 250 A reversed track layout provided exciting racing both Saturday and Sunday in both classes but in EMX250 Race 1 on Saturday Estonia’s Karel Kutsar took the lead early and held it for the first 12 laps before Honda Redmoto Assomotors Mathys Boisrame took the premier position away (photo 2). Boisrame who started in 3rd also passed KTM Silver Action’s Gianluca Facchetti for second on lap 3 before overtaking Kutsar. BUD Racing

Tribute to Eric Geboers

Belgian motocross legend Eric sadly passed away on 6 May in a tragic accident on a lake in northern Belgium. The legendary multi-time motocross champion is reported to have drowned while attempting to rescue his dog. Eric Geboers was one of the many Belgian motocross icons and youngest member of the “Geboers clan” the eldest of whom, Sylvain, was the arch-rival of fellow countryman Joël Robert in the 250cc class, finishing runner up in 1969 and 1970 and third in 1968, 1971 and 1972. Actually, the young Eric started his racing career on the same day Sylvain participated in his last race. It was also the only time that all five brothers raced together at one same event. Eric’s FIM World Championship career was launched in 1980 by Sylvain, who was the Suzuki factory team manager. He claimed victory in France during his second GP, becoming the youngest winner ever

On the Bulgarian track of Sevlievo, the practice and qualifying of the EMX 65 and 85 South East Zone European Motocross Championships have been held today in hot, dry condition. EMX 85 - Croatian rider Luka Kunic won Qualifying race in very hot weather. The championship leader confirmed his supremacy ahead of Marius Kanakis from Greece and of Romanian rider Marius Popovici. EMX 65 – The protagonists of the top positions in the general standings were fighting for the first three places in the qualifying race. Zoltan Ordog was the leader from start to finish. Behind him the battle for second and third place saw Israelian rider Ofir Tzemach finishing in second place ahead of Hungarian Adam Horvath. dig
