EMX 125 and EMX 250 European Championship: Benistat claims the title in the EMX 250 class! The European Championship have concluded another race day in Lommel, Belgium, this time for the round of Limburg. It was a special day for Hutten Metaal Yamaha Racing’s Thibault Benistant who clinched the EMX250 title in style with a race win in the second heat, and an overall victory. This gave the Frenchman the best opportunity to celebrate his gold plate on the top of the box as he claimed his sixth-round win of the season. Meanwhile in the EMX125 Presented by FMF Racing category, Andrea Bonacorsi of Fantic Racing edged closer to his maiden EMX title, as a race win helped him maintain a healthy 38-point advantage on David Braceras of RFM GasGas MX Junior Team, who celebrated his first overall podium victory with a 1-2 result, keeping the championship chase alive. EMX 125 and EMX 250 European Championship: Benistat and Farres victorious in the sand of Belgium The first burst of action in Lommel, Belgium, saw Hutten Metaal Yamaha Racing’s Thibault Benistant make a return to the top of the box in the EMX250 class, as he looked for every advantage over his championship rival Mattia Guadagnini of Husqvarna Maddii Racing Junior. Meanwhile in the EMX125 Presented by FMF Racing category, it was Guillem Farres of RFME GASGAS MX Junior Team, who took his very first overall victory of the season, with a fifth and a race win! The European Championship riders were the first to test out the changes made to the circuit here in Lommel, to kick off this weekend’s races. EMX 125 and EMX 250 European Championship: Guadagnini and Bonacorsi victorious for the round of Spain The European riders of the the EMX250 and EMX125 Presented by FMF Racing riders were the first to ride the brand-new circuit here in Spain, with Husqvarna Junior Racing Maddii’s Mattia Guadagnini taking a third consecutive overall victory in the EMX250 category, while in EMX125 Presented by FMF Racing, it was the championship leader Andrea Bonacorsi of Fantic Racing who made his return to the top of the box. EMX 125 and EMX 250 European Championship: Italians rule in Mantova! Mattia Guadagnini of Husqvarna Junior Racing Maddi took his second consecutive overall victory in the EMX250 class, with a perfect double race win score on home soil. Meanwhile, fellow Italian, Valerio Lata from Marchetti Racing Team KTM, got his own taste of success, as a second and a race win was enough to put the young Italian on the top step of the EMX125 Presented by FMF Racing podium. In the opening EMX250 race, it was Marcel Conijn who led the way, with Guadagnini second and Tom Guyon of Team VRT Nordpesca Holland in third. Guadagnini wasted no time to get around Conijn, as he passed him on the second lap of the race. It then didn’t take long for Guadagnini to get ahead and lead the race by 5.642 seconds. EMX 250 European Championship: perfect day for Guadagnini to win the Overall in EMX250 at the round of Città di Mantova The sixth round of the EMX250 Championship has concluded yesterday in Mantova, for the round of Città di Mantova, that saw Husqvarna Junior Racing Maddii’s Mattia Guadagnini make the perfect comeback to take the overall win on home soil. In the opening race of the day, it was Thibault Benistant of Hutten Metaal Yamaha Racing, Tom Guyon from Team VRT Nordpesca Holland and Guadagnini who got a good start and were running out in front. Guadagnini wasted no time to past Guyon and get himself into second, before passing Benistant for the lead on the opening lap. EMX 250 European Championship: Thibault Benistat on top at the round of Lombardia The EMX250 round in Mantova saw Hutten Metaal Yamaha Racing’s Thibault Benistant have a successful end as he took a fourth consecutive overall victory in the category. As the gate dropped for the opening EMX250 race, it was Meico Vettik who got off to a flying start and was the early race leader. He was followed by Emilio Scuteri of Celestini Racing and Tom Guyon of Team VRT Nordpesca Holland. Bastian Boegh-Damm of W-Z Racing didn’t have such a good start to the race as he crashed out and seemed to be in discomfort as he hopped towards his bike. He did re-join for a couple of laps though eventually retired from the race. Fantic Racing’s Andrea Bonacorsi had a perfect day going 1-1 in the EMX125 class, meanwhile Brad Anderson of Verde Substance KTM has grabbed an early lead in the EMX2T championship following a 2-1 result. 2020 EMX Championships Update Following the big success of the Latvian stops of EMX and the support received, EMX continues to look forward to more epic races this season and therefore FIM Europe and Infront Moto Racing would like to reveal the most recent updates to the 2020 EMX Championships racing calendar. Following the evolution of COVID-19 restrictions and the difficulty of travel, the decision has been made to postpone to 2021 the GP of Turkey in Afyonkarahisar, originally scheduled on the 5-6th of September. Instead, following the success of the Latvian triple-header, the European Championships will anticipate the event in Faenza, Italy, for three epic Grand Prix races with the MXGP of Italy on the 5-6th of September, the MXGP of Città di Faenza on the 8-9th September and the MXGP of Emilia Romagna on 12-13th September.
