Dragbike European Championship: Santa Pod hosted the Final The Final of the Dragbike European Championship took place in Santa Pod, Great Britain, in extremely difficult weather conditions. If on Friday and Saturday the series had to deal with very high temperatures, to top it off, on Sunday in halfway the eliminations a thunderstorm hit the track, flooding the complete facility. A very tough and critical condition that the Promoter and the local crew handled with professionalism. Marcus Christiansen from Denmark came very close to the world record with his normally aspirated Harley Supertwin. Dragbike European Championship: the bad weather affected the event in Sweden Pictures copyright: NitroShutter.com Unlucky weekend for the Dragbike European Championship, that stopped in Tierp for the second round in a row and the third round of the season. For the second time in a row the city of Tierp hosted the Dragbike European Championship. Unfortunately, it has been a tough weekend because of the severe weather in the whole Scandinavia. In fact, Storm Hans has swept over Norway and Sweden, terrorizing these countries. And we know that rain and Dragracing are not the world's best friend. However, above all expectations, the organizer has managed to get most of the racing done. Against all odds and in an uphill battle, 3 rounds of qualifying have been laid down on Friday and Saturday. Unfortunately, on Sunday the weather got even worse. The scheduled start of the elimination rounds had to be

Dragbike European Championship and Dragbike Junior Cup: the season started at Santa Pod Raceway

Unknown
Dragbike European Championship and Dragbike Junior Cup: the season started at Santa Pod Raceway It was a great day of racing at Santa Pod Raceway, where the Dragbike European Championship and Dragbike Junior Cup kicked off with the first round of the season. Over the weekend the event was attended by 30.000 spectators with spectacular runs, close racing and several surprises. The most contended classes were Top Fuel Bike and Super Street Bike, in which the competition was fierce with a far-above-par number of outstanding results that can be seen as absolute top-of-the-bill worldwide. Notably the qualifying sessions between Rikard Gustafsson from Sweden and Neil Midgley from England in TopFuel, between Marcus Christiansen from Denmark and Vesa Lipponen in Super Twin and between Daniël Donat Lencses and Alan Morrison from England in Super Street brought extreme and nail-biting competition. It's an understatement to call this event a historic experience. Two new

Dragbike European Championship and Dragbike Junior Cup: Santa Pod event crowns the champions Fourth and final round of the Dragbike European Championship and third for the Dragbike Junior Cup in Santa Pod, Great Britain. An exciting weekend, despite the very hard weather conditions. FIM-E Top Fuel Bike Dragbike European Championship After qualifying all eyes were on the opening round match-up between Rene van den Berg and Neil Midgley with the former needing a win to keep his championship hopes alive but the SharkAttack rider’s troubled weekend continued with the drivebelt departing barely turning a wheel in the burnout box. This meant that Rikard Gustafsson wrapped up his third European title thanks to qualifying points and a competition solo in the quarter finals. With that out of the way, the event win was the main focus. Gustafsson earned his final spot with a 5.8623/252.25mph to up his own European speed record

Not only the temperatures on the track were a record, breaking with highs of 36 degrees, but also the ticket sale was the highest ever in the long history of this event. FIM-E Top Fuel Bike Rikard Gustafsson prevailed over the four bike field continuing his low six second consistency over the weekend to the very last and easily covering final round opponent Rene van den Berg with a 6.089/246.53 to a wayward 6.586. With the event win the Swede adds a fourth NitrOlympX title in a row to the expanding trophy cabinet at RG Engineering in Falkenberg and will be looking to head off van den Berg in the points chase at Santa Pod in a couple of weeks’ time.
