Final of CEV Repsol in Valencia (Spain)

FIM Europe President Dr Wolfgang Srb with the CEV Director Oscar Gallardo The Final of the FIM CEV Repsol held on 14 and 15 November in the Circuit de la Comunitat Valenciana in Valencia (SPA) signed the first season of the new formula of the European Championship for classes Moto2 and Superbike. The FIM Europe President Dr. Wolfgang Srb and the Secretary General Alessandro Sambuco attended the Final and this allowed to mark a balance of this first year planning the future seasons in a meeting with the CEV Director Oscar Gallardo. Guest of the Final of the European Championship was also the President of the Norwegian Motorcycle Federation - NMF Mr. Roy Øwre.At the end of the awards for the individual races and for the Championships President Srb stated: "I am very pleased with the results of the European Championships in Moto2 and Superbike. European Moto2 and Superbike Championship in Valencia (Spain)

Edgar Pons, the new Moto2 European Champion Twenty-five thousand fans packed the paddock and grandstands to enjoy the sun, spring temperatures, blazing speeds and undiluted excitement of the final six races of the season at the Circuit de la Comunitat Valenciana. With Carmelo Morales (SPA-Yamaha) already crowned champion in Jerez, this time it was the turn of Edgar Pons (SPA-Kalex), who was pronounced champion of the Moto2 European Championship. The first Moto2 European Championship race was reduced to 13 laps after another red flag, forcing riders to go all out with little time for strategies. Eventual winner Xavi Vierge (SPA-Tech 3) pushed hard from the start, closely watched by Edgar Pons (SPA-Kalex), who settled in to take second place on the podium. FIM Europe and FEMA welcome the new report on motorcycle safety from OECD-ITF

Now there is official recognition that alongside the 62 million cars produced every year there are also 50 million new motorcycles, scooters and mopeds. These riders also need to be taken care of in transport and road safety policies. The process began in 2008 with the OECD-ITF conference co-organised with FEMA in Lillehammer, Norway. FIM Europe experts will be present in Albaida (Spain) on 23 and 24 April 2016, during the training camp, for the evaluation and training of the young riders of the EMX150. Second session of Sporting Commissions Meeting in Fiumicino (Italy)

The participants of the Sporting Commissions in Fiumicino, near Rome (Italy)   The FIM Europe Commission Meetings continued today with the second  session of Sporting Commissions, which followed the first session of Sporting Commissions in October and which will be followed by the Non-Sporting Commissions next January. The meeting was held, as in the past, in Tiber Hotel in Fiumicino, near Rome (Italy). In this second session, the meeting of Road Racing, Track Racing, Motoball and Vintage were held, with the participation of the FIM Europe President Dr Wolfgang Srb, of Sporting Council Chairman Martin de Graaff and of FIM Europe Secretary General Alessandro Sambuco. Joining the meeting, also Oriol Puig Bulto, Director of International Technical Commission of FIM, Armando Castagna, Director of Track Racing Commission of FIM, and Arjan Van Eekelen, member of FIM CCR Commission.   Road Racing The main proposals were about Mini Road Racing and Stock 250 class. Big winner was the Brit Tom Sagar, who had already won the championship of E2-class yesterday: being the fastest rider of the second day, he also won the title in the Overall-class. And he had to step up the podium for the third time, when the British gained the third place in the team-championship.In the E3-class the second place behind Rony Nikander was enough for the Swedish Martin Sundin on his Husqvarna to win the championship. The European Classic Endurance Cup ended with great success yesterday at Motorland Aragon in Spain. Good weather, a fabulous track, perfect organization and an exciting race, were the ingredients that made this event a perfect finish for the DG Sports promoted cup. After 4 hours of racing, with only one minor accident without any problem for rider and bike, the winners were Mertens and Simpson from the Sweatshop Phase One I team for the Maxi Classic class, Boos, Nerge and Pfautsch from the German Guzzi Classic Team in the Classic 1000 class and Struck, Sieg and Bohmhauer from the Capelli Belli team in the 750TT class.
