Supermoto European Championship at Albaida (Spain) - Day1

Chareyre Albaida 2018
In sunny, partly cloudy but warm weather conditions the second round of the 2018 Supermoto European Championship season started in Albaida in the region of Valencia, Spain. Circuito d’Albaida has one of the most spectacular off-road sections in the Championship. A combination with the tight and fast corners of the track, makes that there is always action during the practice sessions and races in Albaida. TM Factory Racing rider Thomas Chareyre took his second pole position of this season and will start from first place on the grid. Free practice 1 On Saturday morning 27 riders started the first free practice in Albaida. Most riders had already free practices yesterday so straight from the start of the session all riders had a fast pace, it didn’t take long before everyone had a fast pace in this session. FIM Europe Moto-Tour Assistant Training Course – Second edition in Barcelona (Spain)

IMG_1977
On proposal of the FIM Europe Touring Commission, FIM Europe launched the 2nd FIM Europe Moto-Tour Assistant Training Course, which took place in Barcelona (Spain) on the 14th April at Honda Safety Center. The event was particularly successful: it saw the attendance of 18 trainees from Greece, FYROM, Latvia, Finland and Turkey, which means that the Moto-Tour Assistant Training Course managed to attract a cross-European participation. The last edition, held two years ago, had seen the participation of 10 trainees from Greece, Lithuania, Poland and The Netherlands, which was however a good number of participants considering that it was the first initiative. “Despite untypical weather conditions for Spain, with rain and low temperatures, the group was very excited to participate at all the activities starting with theory lectures and finishing with different motorcycle riding exercises”, stated Nils Freivalds, Chairman of the FIM Europe Touring Commission. The second Moto-Tour Assistant Training

European Superstock 1000 at Aragon (Spain) - Day2

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA
Markus Reiterberger (alpha Racing-Van Zon-BMW, photo1) recorded his second consecutive win in the European Superstock 1000 Championship in the inaugural race of the 2018 season. After closing last year on the top step of the podium at Jerez, the new season opened with a similar picture, the German making the best of his pole position to start to cross in first place. It didn’t come easy for Reiterberger, however, with Maximilian Scheib (Aprilia Racing Team) getting past Reiterberger and controlling long stretches of the race. The Chilean was eventually overtaken by Reiterberger and nearly had his race spoiled by a technical failure, his bike momentarily coming to a near stop with just one lap to go. Scheib managed to make it to the end of the race in fourth position. Accompanying Reiterberger on the podium were Roberto Tamburini (Barclaz Racing Team SA) in second and Federico Sandi (MOTOCORSA Racing) in

European Enduro Championship at Fabriano (Italy)

2018–04-14-Start_with_Matteo_Pavoni_reigning_Champion_(351)
The new season of the European Enduro Championship started this weekend at Fabriano (Italy), around 200 kms North-East of Rome. Day1 - The first winner in this competition was Italian Alessandro Battig (photo2). The European champion Matteo Pavoni was fighting against his countrymen Maurizio Micheluz and Alessandro Battig. Not so strong at the beginning, Pavoni increased in the last five special tests, but Micheluz and Battig were already too far ahead. This year Battig is riding a 450cc Kawasaki instead of the smaller 250cc as in the last seasons, which helped him to win the overall. Photos @Robert Pairan Micheluz was second and won the new 250-2-stroke class, while the former Junior champion Pavoni was third in the overall and won the over 250 cc 2-stroke class. Fourth position for Lorenzo Macoritto, who won the Junior class ahead of Czech Krystof Kouble, first not Italian rider. The Women’s class was

Round 2 of the EMX125 Championship presented by FMF Racing has been recorded today at Trentino, Italy, circuit of Pietramurata. With thousands of Italian motocross fans lining the track fences and 97 entries into the class for the weekend Italy’s own Emilie Scuteri was able to put together a winning performance. In Saturday’s race one we saw a textbook performance from KTM DIGA Junior Racing’s Emil Weckman (photo 2) who took the lead off of the start and stayed in front each of the 15 laps. Behind Weckman a battle kicked off between Emilio Scuteri (photo 3( and Mieco Vettik. Scuteri had second position to his name the first lap but the following 6 laps Vettik led the Italian. At the half way point however Scuteri reclaimed the position and pushed toward the lead of Weckman. At the finish Weckman won by just less than 4 seconds over Scuteri who

European Trial Championship at Castelloli (Spain) – Day2

matteoGrattarola
Italian Matteo Grattarola (Montesa) proved to be stronger than weather conditions and climbed the highest step of the podium in the first round of the 2018 FIM Europe Trial Championship, held in Castelloli, Spain. Matteo Grattarola and, below, Sergio Piardi - Photo @Phototrial.it To complete the Italian success, Sergio Piardi (Beta) triumphed in the Junior class, while in the Over 40 the first place went to German Marcus Kipp (TRS) with an other Italian, Piero Sembenini (Montesa) in second place. As wrong were the weather forecasts for yesterday, as true they for today. In both days, they indicated rain, and if on Saturday there was a moment of clemency only during the Young and the Women Cup, today the 83 riders had to face a long, rainy day. Marcus Kipp - Photo @Phototrial.it It was necessary to postpone the start of 1 hour to allow the organizers to modify part

European Trial Championship at Castelloli (Spain) – Day1

martinRiobo
Spanish riders started very well on their home soil: Martin Riobo (Gas Gas, photo1) and Berta Abellan (Vertigo, photo2) topped Youth and Women classes in Castelloli, Spain, during the first round of the 2018 European Trial Championship. The event was held in the road racing circuit, which 10 years ago had hosted the FIM World Championship. There were 14 sections to repeat twice for the 78 riders at the start. Figures are very good for trial, which can continue to grow up only having a lot of young riders. Two classes for women and two for young riders consent them to approach this discipline easily, choosing the level they feel more adequate. In the Women top class, the favorite German Theresa Bauml (Montesa) - Europen Champion in 2015 and 2016 – was beaten by Berta Abellan, one of the most skilled Spanish newcomers. She gained points in the first lap
