2019 MXGP of Hong Kong announced in Ottobiano

Today’s Fiat Professional MXGP of Lombardia hosted amazing racing and followed by the important announcement of a new stop for the series next year, the 2019 MXGP of Hong Kong. The announcement, made just after the qualifying races, was given by Youthstream President Giuseppe Luongo, who was joined by FIM Europe President, Dr. Wolfgang Srb, FIM/CMS Director, Tony Skillington, Moonmoto Hong Kong CEO & organizer of the MXGP of Hong Kong, Ash Zeak Yutt Sauk, and Moonmoto Hong Kong Partner, Pier Carlo Bottero. The event that will be in the MXGP Calendar for 3 years starting from 2019 was announced as one of the twenty rounds planned for the 2019 season and will be scheduled together with the 2019 MXGP of China in Shanghai. Known as a strong economic, trade, and financial center in the world’s largest motorcycle market, Hong Kong is a great location to add to the list

EMX 65 and 85 NE Zone at Stelpe (Latvia) – Day1

The second round of the EMX65 and 85 NE Zone is taking place this weekend at Stelpe, in Latvia. The Day1 was on stage with Summer temperatures on the very nice and well-prepared track of Piladzu-Mototrase. Of the 73 riders registered, 64 were present, 32 in the 65cc class and 32 in the 85cc class. Through constant irrigation, the riders found very good track conditions. The qualifying race in EMX 85cc saw Edvards Bizans from Latvia winning after a tough fight in the final lap with Martin Michels from Estonia, who finished second. The third place went to Karli Alberts Resulis from Latvia. In the qualifying race of the class EMX 65cc Semen Rybakov from Russia was the first below the checkered flag ahead of Janis Martins Reisulis and Tomass Saicans both from Latvia. EMX 125 and 250 at Saint Jean D’Angely (France)

Joining the MXGP and MX2 racing this weekend was the European championship classes of EMX250 and EMX125 presented by FMF Racing. An amazing rider turn out in both classes led to 2 groups for each where in the end only 40 Qualified to race in each. Taking the overall victories at the French race were Honda Redmoto Assomotor’s Mathys Boisrame and Team Maddi Racing Husqvarna’s Mattia Guadagnini. The success of the winners was aided by the thousands of French fans cheering them on from the edges of the circuit. The hillsides, packed with passionate motocross fans, came to life as the gate dropped for the races. The atmosphere is unmatched by any race so far this season and the memory of winning in front of the massive crowd will stick with both Boisrame and Guadagnini. EMX 250 and EMX 300 at Matterley Basin (Great Britain)

Under blue skies and sunshine FIM Europe’s EMX250 and EMX300 presented by FMF Racing classes have completed their British round at Matterley Basin. Aside from the epic weather and perfect track conditions the racing was phenomenal as well. The British fans where especially treated when Car Glass Honda’s Steven Clarke took the EMX250 overall and Verde Substance KTM’s Brad Anderson won EMX300 presented by FMF Racing and took the championship points lead at the same time! EMX 250 - The ultra competitive EMX250 class continued this weekend in Matterley Basin for the 5th round of the season. Revo Husqvarna UK had high hopes for a home race win with both Martin Barr, the series points leader, and Mel Pocock, second in the standings, both racing in front of the home crowd. EMX 65cc, EMX 85cc NW Zone and EMX Women at Dreetz (Germany) – Day 1

The third round of EMX 65cc and EMX 85cc North West Zone and the second round of EMX Women is being held this weekend at Dreetz (Germany). The weather today was cloudy and about 28 degrees. The organizer, Moto Club Dreetz, did a great job and the riders made their training and qualification sessions on a perfectly prepared track In EMX 65cc qualifying race the winner was Lotte Van Druden ahead of Bradley Mesters and Damien Knuimann, all from The Netherlands. In the qualifying race of EMX 85cc the first rider at the finish line was Håkon Østerhagen from Norway, who got the pole position followed by Scott Smulders by Dave Kooiker, both from the Netherlands. In EMX Women’s qualifying race the fastest rider was Sara Andersen from Denmark, in front of Shana Van Deer vlist and Lynn Valk, both from The Netherlands. EMX65 and EMX 85 Championship SW Zone at Fernao Joanes (Portugal) – Day2

The second racing day in Fernao Joanes, Portugal, started in a partly sunny, calm morning. EMX 85 - The first race started with Italian Matteo Luigi Russi leading, but in the third lap Spanish Raul Sanchez Garcia took the first position and finished first, ahead of Matteo Luigi Russi 12,75sec behind the leader. Third position for French Enzo Casa. In Race2 the holeshot went to Raul Sanchez Garcia who was leading all race long, even if French Saad Soulimani was very close from start to finish. He finished second 9,09sec behind the Spanish rider. Third step of the podium of another French Axel Louis. In the overall, the winner of the event was Raul Sanchez Garcia, ahead of Saad Soulimani and of Matteo Luigi Russi, with the same points as Soulimani. EMX 125 at Teutschenthal (Germany)

This weekend the MXGP calendar made a stop at Germany’s Teutschenthal motocross track and along with it came the European Motocross Championship’s EMX125 class presented by FMF Racing. Topping the group of riders at the end of the weekend was Team Maddii Racing Husqvarna’s Mattia Guadagnini with unbeatable 2-1 finishes. 88 riders entered the racing from around the world for their chance to qualify for the main races’ 40 rider starting list. Qualifying on Saturday morning narrowed the field down for Race 1. From the start to the finish KTM Junior’s Rene Hofer led race 1 with red plated #11. Behind Hofer the first half of the race was Jezyk Racing team’s Eddie Wade. Wade, the 2017 FIM Junior Motocross 85cc World Champion, had the Husqvarna of Guadagnini (photo2) behind him from the start but on lap 9 of the 15 total Wade lost the spot. EMX 65 and 85 SW Zone at Brou (France)

The third round of EMX65 and 85 South West Zone was held at Brou, in France. The winner of 85cc class was French rider Axel Louis who won in Race1 and finished in fifth position in Race2. Second position in the overall for Italian rider Valerio Lata ahead of French Saad Soulimani on Husqvarna (photo1). The winner of 65cc class was Italian Brando Rispoli, who won both races. Second position for Jaka Peklav from Slovenian, ahead of Italian Alessandro Gaspari, all on KTM. The three finished exactly in the same positions in Race1 and in Race2 (photo2). EMX 65 and 85 NE and Open at Kovel (Ukraine)

This weekend the first round of EMX 65 and 85 NE zone was held at Kovel, in Ukraine, together with the third round of European Motocross Open Championship. There were 25 riders in EMX 65, 23 in EMX 85 and 17 riders in EMX Open. The weather was fine, with temperatures around 26 degrees on Saturday and 20 on Sunday. EMX 65 - In race one the winner was Marius Adomaitis from Lithuania, while in race two Romeo Pikand from Estonia managed to win and secured the overall ahead of Marius Adomaitis and Janis Martinis Reisulis from Latvia. EMX 85 - Karls Alberts Reisulis won race1, while Edvards Bidzans was the fastest in race2, both from Latvia. Reisulis won the overall, ahead of Alexey Orlov from Russia and Romeo Karo from Estonia. Freestyle European Championship at Mannheim (Germany)

On Saturday, Night of the Jumps stormed Mannheim for the eighth time. In the final round of the FIM Europe Championship, the world’s longest running Freestyle Motocross sports series saw its best riders fly through the SAP Arena. Ten athletes from five nations started, most notably the 20 year old German, Luc Ackermann who is leading the Euorpean Championship and could win the title. His biggest opponents were Remi Bizouard (FRA) sitting in 2ndposition and the reigning World Champion from Spain, Maikel Melero. Kicking the night’s entertainment off was the qualifying round of Freestyle MX. Remi was lucky to make it through to the finals with a sixth position after suffering a hand injury. Whereas Maikel Melero had a solid run and secured his finals berth with second in qualifying.
