1st session of the FIM Europe Sporting Commissions in Fiumicino

The FIM Europe Commission Meetings started today with the first session of Sporting Commissions, which will be followed by the second session in November and then by the Non-Sporting Commissions next January. The 1st session of the FIM Europe Sporting Commissions in Fiumicino (Italy) The meeting, with new members taking their place along-side reappointed members, is being held, as usual, at the Tiber Hotel in Fiumicino, near Rome (Italy). In this first session there were the meetings of the Road Racing, Motocross & Snowcross, Enduro & Rally and Vintage Commissions. The meetings saw the implementation of the proposals by the various Commissions for the upcoming 2019 Sporting Season. FIM Europe meets the Moldovian President and the FMRM

This week FIM Vice President Andrzej Witkowski and FIM Europe 1st Deputy President Martin de Graaff visited the Moldovian Federation FMRM. The first meeting was held with Victor Golovicichin, President of the Federation and Secretary General Anastasia Sitnic. The Federation is ambitious and would like to organise international motocross events. Motorsport is developing fast, mainly in enduro and motocross. On 5 motocross tracks riders can practice many times during the week. The organization of motocross events is in the hands of seven motoclubs. 2019 FIM Europe Congress in Zagreb (Croatia)

Yesterday the first organizational meeting took place in Zagreb in sight of the 2019 FIM Europe Congress. The FIM Europe delegation composed of the Treasurer Mr. Michal Sikora and Secretary General Mr. Alessandro Sambuco was welcomed by HMS President Mr. Stjepan Peršin, Secretary General Mr. Ivan Lafter and Secretary Mrs. Renata Stamicar. The Congress will be held at the Sheraton Hotel in the Center of Zagreb but other alternative solutions for the accommodation at walking distance will be provided. During the morning a visit to the Croatian Olympic Committee was held to introduce the Congress to the Secretary General Mr. Josip Čop. FIM Europe and Youthstream explain the changes to the Regulations for the 2019 FIM Europe Motocross European Championships Youthstream and FIM Europe work for the overall interest of the sport, therefore some slight adjustments will be made to the some of the 2019 European Championship Regulations as explained below. The European Championships were mainly created to help youth grow and help them prepare for MX2 and then MXGP and be competitive in these classes. This pyramid system is working well because together with this fact and by having the youth race on the same tracks and same weekends as MXGP and on tracks which are very technically demanding it has permitted all these riders to grow and implement their skills. European Superstock 1000 Championship no longer to continue into 2019

FIM Europe and Dorna WSBK Organization have announced that as of 2019 the European Superstock 1000 Championship will no longer be part of the MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship. After 19 seasons of successful racing in around Europe, with 17 different champions and six different manufacturers taking titles in the class, the decision to not continue the series, has been made following the evolution of technical regulations in WorldSBK over recent years. Looking ahead to the future, the removal of the STK1000 category from the WorldSBK paddock will bring more value to national STK championships around Europe. FIM Europe Club Experience at Ioannina (Greece)

The fourth experience of the FIM Europe Club took place at Ioannina (Greece) on the weekend of 21-23 September. This edition, which follows those hosted by Italy, Sweden and France, was organized by AMOTOE and managed by an experienced Staff qualified in the FIM Europe Tour Assistant Courses. Family picture of the participants The Staff, led by Panagiotis Kalaitzis, guided the more than twenty participants in an enthralling journey into the beauties of Greece, from the coast to the inside, from the crystalline waters to the monasteries set in the rocks. In conjunction with FIM, the following balancing regulations have been updated and will be applied from and including Round 6 at Motorsport Arena Oschersleben (D) for European Supersport 300 Cup and Class Alpe Adria Supersport 300: Yamaha YZF-R3A (2018 Year Model, Euro 4) can use the inlet camshaft and cam sprocket of the Yamaha YZF-R3 (pre 2018 Year Models, Euro 3). Part numbers: • Intake camshaft: 2MS-E2170-01 • Cam sprocket: 1WD-E2176-00 No other parts can be exchanged between the different homologations of the Yamaha YZF-R3 and YZF-R3A.
